Application Questions

Who is the most important person in their life and why? What might be different if this person hadn't been around?
At the moment, the most important person in Lottie's life is Caroline, her current obsession and constant crush. Since meeting her she's been on a mission to get as close to her as possible, to utilize every mutual they have and business opportunity to impress her. She's everything Lottie wishes she was โ€” cool, chic, so raw it's authentic and a girl who can survive without her phone. Effortlessly beautiful and original (people want to be her).

If Caroline wasn't around, a lot would change. Lottie would still have the same allergist (mysteriously, Dr. Yang had a change of employment, was replaced with Dr. Sussex as soon as she met her), would be involved in a lot less lawsuits. Would have some agency over herself, little inclination to bend and change herself to what she thinks Caroline might like, would approve of. She'd have a lot more agency and sense of self, at the cost of virtually no change to her terrible attitude, if she weren't around.

Is there an event in your character's life that they'd do differently? How so and why?
New Years, 2017. If there's one thing Lottie wishes she did differently, it'd be the night Charlene fell off the roof of the bar they were at. She was pushedโ€” Caroline thought Charlene got a little too close to Lottie for her own good and, in an attempt to silence her, gave a simple push to her chest. Watched her topple over with Lottie in her arms, reaching out like she could stop Charlene's clumsy descent. If she knew what would happen, she'd try to prevent it. Stop it. Charlene may have done wrong by her, but new year new me. Wrongs can be forgiven and that's what she wants, to move past it all and feel good.

What's the greatest challenge you foresee your character facing in the setting?
I think the greatest challenge I can see Lottie facing in the setting is being flexible and willing enough to be wrong, or bad at things, to make a living (to work normal jobs). All her life she was either coddled by her family or circumstance, becoming a full blown influencer. Her money is made off lies, a carefully curated image online that doesn't really apply here. And not only does this mean actually having to talk to people, it means having to be thoughtful and considerate to an extent to โ€” to strangers, at that, Lottie's one of many pivotal flaws (not being able to Discern Other People Have Complicated Lives Like Her).

What's the easiest thing you foresee your character adapting to in the setting?
This sounds so silly to say but: living a sedentary lifestyle, with bits of mirth and whimsy. Adapting to the shitty car lifestyle in a I Can See Why People Made Vlogging About This a Career type of way. As rough as it'd be in the beginning, I think her making friends would be easy, too, clinging to others to siphon all the Survival Knowledgeโ„ข she can and finding companionship along the way, too.
